PATE: Recall then, sonnies, that at mister Sage's house y'all hafta be like in the church! Everthang's holy and y'all canna dig aroond nowhere.

wArlord: That's all clear, righty.

PATE: Just sit at this here table in all peace while I go wake up the old man.

wHitedodge: Couldna we get to at least look a little bit? So that we could also do it in the future...

wArlord: It'd be right good to know how that's done.

PATE: Well, perhaps it might be good, yeah. But just stay there at the door then.

wArlord: Allrighty...

PATE: We've usually woken him up by wettin' a rag with some coffee from the thermos, and then layin' the rag on his face...

wHitedodge: This is so exciting!!

PATE: Mister Sage, yoo-hoo, it's now yer time to wake up once again.

PATE: Some rascals've come to ask ye a bit aboot some magics.

wArlord: Will it usually take long until he wakes up?

PATE: Sometimes maybe a quarter-hour, sometimes even many hours.

wHitedodge: I don't dare to wait sump'n like many hours!!

PATE: A little bit of patience now here, youngsters...

PATE: Does anybody of y'all have a watch?

wHitedodge: I've got a watch! A real digital watch!!

PATE: Let's let Heikki wake up in all peace but every ten minutes we could go check how he's doin' there.

PATE: So, if ye looked at yer watch every now and then, it'd be good...

WHITEDOGE: Okey, allright!

wArlord: Has Heikki been long in this kinda state?

PATE: Well, back when I was just a young helper boy for them cops, Heikki was already slumberin' even then.

PATE: Then this senior constable of ours, Martti Ikäläinen, tell that the man'd gone numb at his young years already.

wArlord: So, if he's been mostly sleepin' like ninety years now, I guess he went there quite young then?

PATE: Heard he was an old man back then already.

PATE: When yer in the slumber, I heard ye age much slower than when awake, and that's why he's stayed awake for this long.

wArlord: So, he's like 150 years old for real?

wHitedodge: He canna be, the oldest person in the Guinness Book of Records is sump'n like 120!

PATE: Well, Heikki's like Lietevesi's own secret, ye don't show that aroond to some Book of Records makers!

wHitedodge: Oh, righty!!

kHanatik: Did you always use coffee to wake him up, even in the shortage years?

PATE: Oh-whoa there, I reckon Kuusinens' boy's been readin' some history books!

PATE: Naw, we took the coffee to use only durin' my years, when we could already get it without a voucher.

PATE: Earlier there was a kinda ersatz mix for where ye had to gather some exact herbs in the woods at exact times of the year...

PATE: And nobody managed to take care of it eventually. And he's actually woken up better with real coffee than some old-timey soups.

PATE: The sleepstuffs we've still had the energy to pick up...

kHanatik: Sleepstuffs?

PATE: They're actually an easier thang, 'cause ye can find the most pieces aroond the yard and the woods right there nearby.

PATE: Ye canna even find the most important grass nowhere else in Lietevesi but right here.

PATE: Mister Sage's usually been pickin' 'em himself after wakin' up and makin' a new mix of 'em...

PATE: ... but now he's been so weakly in the late years that we cops have been helpin' him.

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!

PATE: Whatta?

wHitedodge: Them ten minutes be now past!

PATE: Don't in hell use some beepin' there, just keep look at the clockface there!!

wHitedodge: Oh, okey, right, sorry.

PATE: All them there modern-day toys...

PATE: But I'm now gonna take a look in the bedroom.

Wornas-Heikki: Hmmh...

PATE: It's startin' to be the time.

Wornas-Heikki: Was the time long?

PATE: Half a year?

Wornas-Heikki: In the dream 'twas told that there'd be some graver affairs to solve today.

PATE: Well, today we've got sump'n else than crime stuff. Come sit there in the table once ye make it.

...

Wornas-Heikki: There be some youth here!

PATE: Guess ye recall these here fellas?

Wornas-Heikki: I do recall them for sure! Urho Hirvonen ...

wArlord: Jussi, actually. Urho was my grampa.

Wornas-Heikki: Look at that! Time rolleth so quickly when being asleep!

Wornas-Heikki: Urho oftentimes came to my dwelling when I was still more awakely. I might very well have made him my follower back then...

wArlord: I guess he was doin' that, aye.

Wornas-Heikki: Thou werest there in that townly house yesterday, one of the hiding boys. The one whose father came from the south.

kHanatik: You mean last winter...

Wornas-Heikki: And thee I don't recall whatsoever. Couldst thou be some Karelia-born boy?

wHitedodge: Well, my family's come from Karelia, aye...

Wornas-Heikki: Ye look like well-powered boys, even if yer powers be from many sides of the Grand Duchy.

Wornas-Heikki: But, perhaps I should boil some coffee for ye...

PATE: I reckon mister Sage's powders have gotten moldy.

Wornas-Heikki: Oh, so 'twas! Them powders turn moldy so swiftly nowadays...

PATE: But I've got the coffee still quite warm in this flask, so we can drink from there.

Wornas-Heikki: I could've boilt some by myself...

PATE: Well, I bought a new bag of coffee for mister Sage to honour this moment, so ye can boil it on yer own the next time.

Wornas-Heikki: So, let us then drink from yer modern-time wonder-bottle.

Wornas-Heikki: But, do tell me, isn't there at least one fellow missing from yer crowd?

kHanatik: Do you think so?

Wornas-Heikki: The one whom ye cops were chasing yesterday.

wArlord: I guess Mika said he wouldna be needed here anyway and he'd rather stay home.

Wornas-Heikki: Perhaps he has changed his mind.

kHanatik: At least we could invite him here.

wArlord: I guess Pate has a phone in his car?

PATE: Naw, I ain't, there was one in my work car but now that's just a civilian car.

kHanatik: How could we get him here then?

Wornas-Heikki: Worry not, for he is coming.

wArlord: Wel, let's see aboot that...

PATE: What's so strikin' in that there chap?

Wornas-Heikki: Some our-kindly power was gleaming out of him.

PATE: Ye mean, of Vornanens' kind?

wHitedodge: Wowww, is Mega related to Vornanens!?

wArlord: Well, his mum's mum could've been a Vornanen, right...

wHitedodge: Then Sam'd also got Vornanens' blood, and Osmo!

Wornas-Heikki: Some Vornanens' power is there in every Lietevesi family, but in this boy I felt it in in a rare vigor.

*knock knock knock*

Wornas-Heikki: Come in, we were waiting for thee!

mR.mEgAsTuFf: I had a fuckin' crazy dream!! And then I got a mindlessly strong feelin' that I've gotta come here... what's this place anyway?

Wornas-Heikki: This is the cottage of Matti Vornanen the younger. I came to sleep here after Matti died.

wHitedodge: Mika, be there Vornanens in yer family for real??

mR.mEgAsTuFf: Well, I think Ritu's mom's maiden name was Vornanen...

Wornas-Heikki: Art thou one of Hautataipale boys?

mR.mEgAsTuFf: Yeah...

Wornas-Heikki: Dost thou live in Juho's hill-hut in Hönttölä, or did his son's sons already build the new house?

mR.mEgAsTuFf: We've got some meetings in da Hönttölä house every now and then, but nobody of us lives there...

Wornas-Heikki: But still, do tell my greetings to Juho when ye visit him nextly!

wArlord: There ain't been nobody livin' there for like ten years...

PATE: There ain't been livin' any Vornanens there for ages neither. Juho's widow moved away from there with her daughter and sold the house...

Wornas-Heikki: Hear me now, the place is powerful where the Hönttölä hillhut was built!

Wornas-Heikki: It's on the same ring as this one cottage...

Wornas-Heikki: The hut of Pirttimäki is on the same ring too, and the church coast too, and the cape of Öökkölä.

kHanatik: ...

PATE: I heard the boys'd seen in dream that they should come to see mister Sage.

Wornas-Heikki: The time hath truly come to choose the next sages for Lietevesi, as the grasses be not keeping me alive for many more years.

wHitedodge: Wowww...

Wornas-Heikki: Tell me, O thou who just camest, whether the boy named Osmo is one of thy mates?

mR.mEgAsTuFf: Well, he's my uncle...

Wornas-Heikki: Osmo and a few of his mates were the ones with whom I talked at the previous time.

Wornas-Heikki: Back then, Osmo seemed to be more eager towards all the modern electric wonders and other foreign magicks.

Wornas-Heikki: I reckoned that I should wait for one more generation and let Osmo rather be taught by the star-dwellers.

wHitedodge: Star-dwellers...?

mR.mEgAsTuFf: Osmo had some UFO contacts when he was young. I always thought he'd just made 'em up...

Wornas-Heikki: We old-schoolers know not of electricity nor any of these modern-day steam engines and others.

Wornas-Heikki: And, since the spirits of this world know not of them either, we called the star-dwellers for aid in this.

WHITEDODGE But what aboot that we too do lotsa stuff with electric gear?:

Wornas-Heikki: It troubleth not, as long as all the magick layeth not upon it.

Wornas-Heikki: With mere modern-day humbugs, yer nature would stay weak.

Wornas-Heikki: If ye aim to uphold my work, yer nature must be much stronger than that of the earlier new-school sages.

PATE: I might get outside for some time if mister Sage's got sump'n important to tawk with just the boys...

Wornas-Heikki: I reckoned giving some tasks to the boys. Mister policeman can leave for the meanwhile if he so wisheth.

PATE: Allright then, I'm goin' then.

Wornas-Heikki: Hear me carefully now, afore I return to my slumber.

Wornas-Heikki: Firstly, yer power feels markedly quarrelsome.

Wornas-Heikki: Powers do gleam out of ye, but their kinds be so unlike, that ye must seek a way to bring them to one.

kHanatik: We did have quite a lot of quarrel recently...

Wornas-Heikki: Although merely one of ye shall be there to uphold my post, others be needful for strengthening the upholder's power.

Wornas-Heikki: Ye must make yer sagely ways powerful enough, to make yer common power suit the need.

wArlord: Sounds quite reasonable there...

Wornas-Heikki: Moreover, ye should have a challenger.

kHanatik: I think we have.

Wornas-Heikki: Be they some powerful witches?

wArlord: They're from near Joensuu, a kinda, yeah, a bunch of witches.

kHanatik: We shall be seeing them in Iisalmi next winter, as we have an opportunity there to compete with our powers.

Wornas-Heikki: Having a challenger is needful for ye, to ally yer powers and to become skillful.

Wornas-Heikki: So, work hard to learn how to oppose the Joensuu witches, and even seek aid from the spirits of the whole Lietevesi.

Wornas-Heikki: Once ye have faced the challenger, come back to me for the second time.

wArlord: How would we get them spirits to help us?

Wornas-Heikki: I can teach to ye the spell with which ye can rise the Lietevesi nature to aid ye. I reckon ye can recall a few words?

kHanatik: We can, yes.

Wornas-Heikki: Good! The spell goeth thus:

Wornas-Heikki: Rise, my nature, from the hole / My birth, from the deep earth / From the cauldron of death / From under a sunken tree, my spirit

Wornas-Heikki: For works that must be done / For works surely-drowning / To overcome foes / To fell down ghosts

Wornas-Heikki: Come, death, dreadly / To help this wand-striker / To know this pain / To free from this evil

Wornas-Heikki: Rise like thou rosest afore / When mountains flowed as butter / Rocks ran as honey / Own fields as beer

Wornas-Heikki: Rise to the air without rising / Out without a door grunting / A hundred men under thy wing / A thousand men on thy beak

Wornas-Heikki: My fingernails burn as vipers / My own hands as snakes / For me to bring down plague / From the long backlands of north -

wHitedodge: That's too long for us to recall!!

Wornas-Heikki: But 'twas merely the beginning...

wHitedodge: Well, anyway!!

mR.mEgAsTuFf: If it takes five fuckin' minutes to chant that out, they'd get to do us all kinda stuff in that time!

kHanatik: It would indeed be good to have a shorter version available.

Wornas-Heikki: All these modern times, all must always be done so hastily!

Wornas-Heikki: Still, the mere beginning might be able to serve ye well too, if ye must sing fast...

wArlord: How was the beginnin' then?

Wornas-Heikki: "Rise, my nature, from the hole / My birth, from the deep earth."

wArlord: "Rise, my nature, from the hole / My birth, from the deep earth."

wHitedodge: "Rise, my nature, from the hole / My birth, from the deep earth."

Wornas-Heikki: I shall tell to the spirits, that they should go after ye to Iisalmi.

Wornas-Heikki: A call longer than that might not be needful for them at all.

wHitedodge: Yeaah, we're gettin' to fight a damn elite witchbattle against Wampires!!

wHitedodge: And we're gonna get some helper monsters on top of that!!! How leet is that!!!
