mR.mEgAsTuFf: It's turnin' out at least better than that fuckin' Firemania!

nEopardy: Yeah, it's already better because we got those voxels work so well...

wHitedodge: But why are we even makin' a demo and not practisin' how to cast spells?

kHanatik: You do remember what cULT oF pOWER said?

kHanatik: All subdivision of magic support one of other: code, graphics, music, magick, hacking, cracking, phreaking, -

wHitedodge: At least I'd like to concentrate on that there magick now!

kHanatik: Please concentrate on it, if you consider it important.

nEopardy: I was wondering a little bit if that nature-rising could like help us understand maths better.

wArlord: I don't reckon them there gnomes get math at all. It's sump'n a bit like foreigners' magick, right.

nEopardy: But at least on the level where it'd make my brain work more efficiently while I learn those matrixes and the like?

wArlord: Well, right, who knows aboot that...

kHanatik: For science and technology, it might be better for us to ask help from the humanoids than the natural spirits.

wHitedodge: May I try to contact the humanoids? May I -

mR.mEgAsTuFf: What 'bout not lettin' others make our demo? We're gonna stay as total lamers if we just rip all the code from some humanoids.

nEopardy: On the other hand they may have some damn cool shading techniques that humans haven't gotten to even think about yet...

wHitedodge: Yeah, reckon aboot that!!

mR.mEgAsTuFf: D'ya know mean sumthing cooler than Phong and Gouraud?

nEopardy: Yeah, or even cooler than some envmaps and bumpmaps... llike something mindlessly unbelievable... like realtime raytracing...

mR.mEgAsTuFf: That's over da top already! YA CAN'T GET RAYTRACING REALTIME!!

nEopardy: Not with our algorithms, but -

mR.mEgAsTuFf: Goddamn it, if ya wanna get even some lousy five fps from sumthing that usually takes many hours per frame...

mR.mEgAsTuFf: THEN EVEN DA TUFFEST OPTIMIZATION SKILLZ WON'T HELP YA! IT'S A TOTAL IMPOSSIBILITY!

wArlord: Aye, doesna sound very credible that, it's far beyond the hardware limits.

kHanatik: I am personally convinced that what we imagine as hardware limits is actually a mere mirage.

wArlord: What didye say? Hear me now. Even though the spirit world exists, there is an actual physical framework in how computers work -

nEopardy: Have you ever seen new C64 demos?

wArlord: Well, I ain't...

nEopardy: I watched the C64 compos at Asm. They're doing the kinda stuff all the time that appears totally impossible to the computing power...

wArlord: Like what?

nEopardy: Well, something like fractal zoomers and gourauds for instance...

wArlord: Now, that's gettin' too thick already now!

mR.mEgAsTuFf: Right! That's by no means possible with the C64 'coz there ain't none in even some A500 demos... requires AGA gear at minimum.

nEopardy: I didn't believe that either before I saw it with my own eyes.

kHanatik: My theory is that the more restricted computer one programs for, the more intense optimization tricks one learns from it.

wHitedodge: Does that there optimization then always need the tuffer magic the tuffer the tricks are?

kHanatik: I would assume so.

wHitedodge: Why are we then makin' a demo for the PC or even for the Amiga?

kHanatik: We do not really have any chances to make for anything else. Our skills are still so limited.

wHitedodge: Fuck that! Osmo dinna have naw other computer afore he bought that there Telmac! And still he learned to code for it!

kHanatik: That was a good point. Perhaps we actually do not need to practice with the PC before -

wHitedodge: Goddamnit, let's go grab Osmo's Telmac for us! And make one helluva realtime raytracer for it!!

wHitedodge: That'd release so much magick power that we could like fuckin' turn Wampires into salt pillars by just lookin' at 'em!!

kHanatik: The problem in this idea is that there is no Telmac compo at Juhla. And other parties do not either, as far as I know.

wHitedodge: Why not? Would that release too much witchpower if they organized sump'n like that?

kHanatik: Maybe. There is not even a C64 compo at Juhla. Maybe it would be too dangerous to organise one of those too often as well.

mR.mEgAsTuFf: Have ya started yar Amiga demo yet, Jyri?

kHanatik: Not yet, I have had some preliminary difficulties. I have not found a way to get into a graphics mode similar to mode 13h -

mR.mEgAsTuFf: It'd be quite important that we also make an Amiga demo and not just a PC one.

kHanatik: I completely agree with you in this. But I do not know at all how to get started without a suitable graphics mode.

wArlord: Have ye asked the amigists at CWUnet? Or like some Amiga area on the Internet? I s'pose somebody there knows...

kHanatik: I have not yet...

wArlord: Wouldna it be good to ask then, if ye ain't gettin' forward on yer own?

kHanatik: I believe that the best way to become stronger in magick is to develop one's solutions all by oneself.

wArlord: Nonsense! I don't believe that Heikki had made up himself that piece of poem he taught us...

kHanatik: Good point. Perhaps it is acceptable to get some solutions from others...

mR.mEgAsTuFf: Well, it'd be good to get at least sumthing to every compo so that we can beat Wampires at least in number of entries if nuffin' else!

nEopardy: We should also make a 64K for the PC and not just a demo...

wArlord: That might be quite easy, just put a smaller song in the demo and take all the graphics out?

nEopardy: We also need to replace Midas with some smaller player...

wHitedodge: Is there some magick compo at Juhla the?

mR.mEgAsTuFf: Nope!! Whatta fuck are ya fantasizing there!!

wHitedodge: Naw, I was just reckonin' that 'cause there ain't no Telmac compo and we canna make a Telmac demo 'cause of that...

kHanatik: I assume that there will also be a natural opportunity to test our magickal powers against Wampires. We do not need a Telmac demo.

wHitedodge: Oh, right, okey then!!! But ain't IRC warbots magick also?

kHanatik: Not necessarily, but the IRC warrior skill also supports the other brands of sagely skill. It is also good for developing warrior virtues.

wHitedodge: Would we get tuffer magick powers to use if we made 'em warbots with the Telmac?

mR.mEgAsTuFf: Man, yar Telmac nuttiness is startin' to get from an entire different world dammit...

kHanatik: I do not believe we would, but we should consider this possibility before giving our judgment.

wHitedodge: What if we like replaced the DECREPiTUDE board machine with the Telmac?

wHitedodge: It'd like collect all the magick power in Finland there, 'cause we'd hafta bend the borders of reality so hard!!

wArlord: Would that even be worth it? Maybe months of work there and would only show out in that the board would be slow and shitty...

kHanatik: I would assume that using an Amiga instead of a PC in a server already strengthens its occult level well enough compared to the effort.

kHanatik: Replacing an Amiga with an 8-bit computer would not be worthwhile, on the other hand.

wHitedodge: Could it be the same in demos?

kHanatik: It may very well be that Amiga demos already release enough magickal power, and this is the reason for the rarity of C64 compos.

wHitedodge: But would be moving from the Amiga to more magickal computers nevertheless?? We'd get to be the tuffest magickians in the world!!

kHanatik: Maybe we could consider it. For now, a 32-bit PC and an AGA Amiga are enough for us, however.

mR.mEgAsTuFf: By da way, have ya got any point in that yar board is using an Amiga and a PC at the same time in some fuckin' screwed way?

kHanatik: Yes, I do. All that has occult relevance is on the Amiga, and everything else on the PC. The local network only works with the PC -

mR.mEgAsTuFf: First of all, I think that it's totally pd-lame to have a specialization on a board, like yar board is specialized on occult stuff.

mR.mEgAsTuFf: And even if there was some point in that, WHY IN DA FUCK ya can only get to da Amiga size from da phone line and not from da 2.0 at all!?

mR.mEgAsTuFf: Even if ya can get from da Amiga side to da PC side all okay with that null-modem cable of yars?

kHanatik: A phone line connection requires its own stake because of the phone bill, and this makes it more sacred.

kHanatik: Additionally, it is more difficult to eavesdrop it, so the occult secrets -

mR.mEgAsTuFf: Whatta fuck, d'ya mean now that ya can eavesdrop on the 2.0??

nEopardy: Anyone can capture anyone's packets in a local area network. The telnet traffic, for instance, can be captured in its entirety.

mR.mEgAsTuFf: Don't say ya fuckin' have captured goddamn everything I've chatted like on the IRC over CWUnet?!

kHanatik: We have been monitoring your activity, but we have only been doing it for your own benefit.

mR.mEgAsTuFf: Fuckin' spy traitors dammit!! I'm quitting to use the whole 2.0 if everybody's watching each other's IRCings there dammit!!

wHitedodge: Ye yerself invaded other folks' private dirs!!

mR.mEgAsTuFf: That's a different thing!! And I dinna fuckin' look at yar files but Sam's!!

kHanatik: Nevertheless, you have been discussing with CyBoGaNg about keyloggers and other spy software with the intention to spy on us with them.

kHanatik: It is therefore completely equitable that we spy on you as well.

mR.mEgAsTuFf: GOD FUCKIN' FUCKIN' FUCK DAMN YA THERE NOW!!!

wArlord: Wouldna yer common sense tell ye that if ye use the Internet over a slirp connection from somebody else's computer ...

wArlord: ... that he helluva really can watch what yer doin'.

mR.mEgAsTuFf: Fuckin' fuck...

wArlord: Besides, Mega, have ye ever heard aboot a protocol called SSH?

mR.mEgAsTuFf: Yeah, dR.cRaXoN's mentioned 'bout it some time...

wArlord: Ye should start usin' it if ye don't want that we see yer IRCin'.

mR.mEgAsTuFf: God-fuckin'-dammit! This thing now crumbled my trust on ya so totally that ya must compensate for it somehow!!

mR.mEgAsTuFf: I'm not gonna use 2.0 or even the whole Internet for anything after this!!

mR.mEgAsTuFf: I'm like gonna replace the boot sector on my harddisk every fuckin' day to clear it of yar keyloggers and viruses!!

wArlord: Sounds quite good, that'd teach ye to be careful too.

kHanatik: Maybe our suspicion towards one another would also improve our preparedness for Wampires' attacks.

nEopardy: Yeah, sounds quite reasonable that we could like deliberately attack each others' computers every now and then...

wArlord: We really should excercise to maintain our war readiness.

mR.mEgAsTuFf: NO IN HELL ARE CWU MEMBAS GONNA START ATTACKIN' EACH OTHER DAMMIT!!!

kHanatik: You have no authority in this. This is cHAOS wORLD uNKNOWN, not C00LeS WaReZ UNiON.

mR.mEgAsTuFf: We should maintain da unity of da crew, dammit!!!

wArlord: Man, ye have yerself broken that unity like how many times.

wArlord: Some total double standards there now, guess yer are secretly a Christian on top of that!

mR.mEgAsTuFf: INSULT ME ONE MORE TIME!!!

kHanatik: It would indeed be essential for you to deinfect yourself from any leftovers of Reijo religion in order to facilitate your development.

mR.mEgAsTuFf: I'm fuckin' usin' MindBuilder every night to train concentration and telekinesi, so I should be at quite a high level now!!

wHitedodge: Ye hafta practise them there virtues too!!

kHanatik: Affirmative, it is important to develop virtues in order to get rid of decadent religiosity.

mR.mEgAsTuFf: Ain't they some fuckin' Ultima shit?

wHitedodge: Ye must get to high levels at 'em as well!

mR.mEgAsTuFf: Okay. Are there still some other directions we should develop into?

kHanatik: Like all true satanists, Wampires members also play role playing games, which provide them with entirely special demonic powers.

kHanatik: Maybe we should start playing RPGs as well.

wHitedodge: At least I'm already playin' Ultima!

kHanatik: I am now referring to tabletop games.

wHitedodge: Oh, right!!

kHanatik: I am going to request Mage: The Ascension for Yule gift. It has the most realistic magic system according to experts.

kHanatik: We can start playing it straight after Yule, once we have finished our Juhla prods.

wHitedodge: Couldna we start playin' it straight after ye've gotten it? So that we'd beat the Wampires...

kHanatik: It is our intention to beat Wampires principally by technological means at Juhla. Reality magick is only on the second priority.

wHitedodge: Okey...

mR.mEgAsTuFf: Yeah, I now agree with ya totally that we should fuckin' concentrate on that demo first, and think about all the crackpottery after that!

nEopardy: Yeah. Did you have any new effect ideas, in addition to those we've already made?

wHitedodge: That there realtime raytracer!!!!

mR.mEgAsTuFf: It's a fuckin' waste of time to try to do effects that are completely impossible to make!!

kHanatik: Maybe it is indeed the most important for us ow to concentrate on the kind of effects we can attain at our present skill level.

kHanatik: But despite concentrating on them right now, we are DEFINITELY GOING TO BEAT WAMPIRES!

kHanatik: ON EVERY SECTOR, AT EVERY PARTY NEXT YEAR!

kHanatik: CWU WORLD DOMINATION 1996!
