nEopardy: I watched the C64 compos at Asm. They're doing the kinda stuff all the time that appears totally impossible to the computing power...

mR.mEgAsTuFf: Right! That's by no means possible with the C64 'coz there ain't none in even some A500 demos... requires AGA gear at minimum.

kHanatik: My theory is that the more restricted computer one programs for, the more intense optimization tricks one learns from it.

wHitedodge: Does that there optimization then always need the tuffer magic the tuffer the tricks are?

kHanatik: We do not really have any chances to make for anything else. Our skills are still so limited.

wHitedodge: Fuck that! Osmo dinna have naw other computer afore he bought that there Telmac! And still he learned to code for it!

kHanatik: The problem in this idea is that there is no Telmac compo at Juhla. And other parties do not either, as far as I know.

wHitedodge: Why not? Would that release too much witchpower if they organized sump'n like that?

kHanatik: Maybe. There is not even a C64 compo at Juhla. Maybe it would be too dangerous to organise one of those too often as well.

kHanatik: Not yet, I have had some preliminary difficulties. I have not found a way to get into a graphics mode similar to mode 13h -

mR.mEgAsTuFf: It'd be quite important that we also make an Amiga demo and not just a PC one.

kHanatik: I completely agree with you in this. But I do not know at all how to get started without a suitable graphics mode.

wArlord: Have ye asked the amigists at CWUnet? Or like some Amiga area on the Internet? I s'pose somebody there knows...

kHanatik: I believe that the best way to become stronger in magick is to develop one's solutions all by oneself.

wArlord: That might be quite easy, just put a smaller song in the demo and take all the graphics out?

wHitedodge: Naw, I was just reckonin' that 'cause there ain't no Telmac compo and we canna make a Telmac demo 'cause of that...

kHanatik: I assume that there will also be a natural opportunity to test our magickal powers against Wampires. We do not need a Telmac demo.

kHanatik: Not necessarily, but the IRC warrior skill also supports the other brands of sagely skill. It is also good for developing warrior virtues.

wHitedodge: Would we get tuffer magick powers to use if we made 'em warbots with the Telmac?

mR.mEgAsTuFf: Man, yar Telmac nuttiness is startin' to get from an entire different world dammit...

kHanatik: I do not believe we would, but we should consider this possibility before giving our judgment.

wHitedodge: What if we like replaced the DECREPiTUDE board machine with the Telmac?

wHitedodge: It'd like collect all the magick power in Finland there, 'cause we'd hafta bend the borders of reality so hard!!

wArlord: Would that even be worth it? Maybe months of work there and would only show out in that the board would be slow and shitty...

kHanatik: I would assume that using an Amiga instead of a PC in a server already strengthens its occult level well enough compared to the effort.

kHanatik: Replacing an Amiga with an 8-bit computer would not be worthwhile, on the other hand.

kHanatik: It may very well be that Amiga demos already release enough magickal power, and this is the reason for the rarity of C64 compos.

wHitedodge: But would be moving from the Amiga to more magickal computers nevertheless?? We'd get to be the tuffest magickians in the world!!

kHanatik: Maybe we could consider it. For now, a 32-bit PC and an AGA Amiga are enough for us, however.

mR.mEgAsTuFf: By da way, have ya got any point in that yar board is using an Amiga and a PC at the same time in some fuckin' screwed way?

kHanatik: It is our intention to beat Wampires principally by technological means at Juhla. Reality magick is only on the second priority.

mR.mEgAsTuFf: Yeah, I now agree with ya totally that we should fuckin' concentrate on that demo first, and think about all the crackpottery after that!

nEopardy: Yeah. Did you have any new effect ideas, in addition to those we've already made?

mR.mEgAsTuFf: It's a fuckin' waste of time to try to do effects that are completely impossible to make!!

kHanatik: Maybe it is indeed the most important for us ow to concentrate on the kind of effects we can attain at our present skill level.
