dArK sTuFfEr: I agree. All the modern PC code works with the 486, but it is easier to discern bad optimisation from it than from an over-the-top Pentium.

dArK sTuFfEr: For the same reason, Amiga demos should be shown without a turbocard. Megahertz are not supposed to replace optimisation.
DiCKiNSTASiA: I'd rather watch the demos from a computer that's as fast as possible, 'cause it annoys so much when they're jumpy -
dArK sTuFfEr: Poorly-coded demos are supposed to be annoyingly jumpy, in order to let the authors receive the critique they deserve.

dArK sTuFfEr: An ethernet board is indeed merely harmful in a compo machine. Excess expansion cards may interfere with demo operation.
mR.mEgAsTuFf: And someone may even get da idea to flood da card, like, when an enemy crew's prod is runnin', to make it more jumpy...
dArK sTuFfEr: I do not believe packet flood would cause problems. That would require that the ethernet driver was loaded.

dArK sTuFfEr: You actually have to remove it, in order to minimise the chance of hardware conflict.
